Hindsite is 20/20

There’s a highway exit that I almost always miss. Coming from East Tennessee back to Corinth, for whatever reason, I take the exit to Nashville and not to Huntsville. At this point, it’s a mental block. I even know that it’s coming and still take the wrong exit…

The problem is that it takes so long to get turned around. If you miss it, you have to drive several miles before there’s an exit to get turned around. So taking the wrong exit adds travel time to the trip.

Elite fighting forces put their troops through incredibly difficult situations before they ever go into battle. Training this way enables the troops to look back over their training and know that they are capable of handling the situations that arise on the battlefield.

Maybe you’ve experienced this in your life. Whether it was bad times or good times, looking back can change our perspective on our current situation.

Maybe you are experiencing the world around you change in ways that don’t make sense. Perhaps things look differently from what you expected.

It’s also possible that you are looking forward to the future and wondering when your big break will come. I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve asked God, “I know you have plans for me, but when will they start?”.

Maybe you are facing one of the questions as well.

The truth is, whether you believe it not, you are not the version of you that God needs in the future, you are the version of you that is being prepared for the future.

Who are you being right now?

Are you disgruntled because things aren’t going the way you thought they would?

Are you casually waiting for things to happen for you?

Are you critical of others because everyone seems to be moving and you are standing still?

The person that you are being right now is directly related to the person you are becoming.

Do you know why?
